GotPrint.net: Worst Print Company on Earth

GotPrint: How they cost me thousands of dollars and provided no product in exchange

Edit: After posting this story as a review on Yelp.com, I received an email notice that a comment was posted by “N. S. of GotPrint”. Shortly thereafter, my review disappeared and yelp closed my account. So, it looks like “N. S. of GotPrint” is allowed to control their company’s reviews on Yelp. When will the public have a REAL outlet to voice their horrible experiences with scam companies like this?

I’ve decided to set up this site to warn the world about this criminal company that calls itself GotPrint, aka Printograph, inc., located at GotPrint.net. They boast of really cheap prices to lure in suckers like me, then provide you with absolutely horrible product, and refuse to fix the product or refund your money.

Here’s my story.

On April 5, 2010, I ordered a shipment of business cards and banners from gotprint.net, motivated by their cheap prices. The total amount of my order was $137.72. These items were needed for an event that was to occur on April 15th.

April 6th, I received a proof of the product via email. The proof was accurate to color and cut specifications. I gave my approval on the product to be printed.

April 13th, I received the item, only to find that it had been cut improperly and looked very different from the proof that I had approved. The letters were cut off at the top, and the cut lines were printed at the bottom of the product, rather than being cut off like they are supposed to be. I immediately informed the company and asked for a fixed reprint to be mailed directly to the event that I needed them for. I was told that not only were they not willing to fix and ship the product to me by the date needed, but that they considered the badly miscut and misprinted product “acceptable” by their standards. And, they told me that it was up to the customer to pay to ship the defective item back to them, at which time they would inspect the product and decide whether they feel like reprinting them or not. At this point, it would do me no good to have a late product anyway, let alone pay out of my pocket for a manufacturing defect made by the company. I asked them to just refund my money so that I could have another company print them in time for me.

I went back and forth with this company for several weeks asking for a refund, the whole time being denied.

April 28: After telling the company I was going to make a report with the attorney general, they informed me that they were issuing a refund. I thanked them.

The money was never returned to my credit card. I kept asking when they were returning it. They finally sent me a copy of the information that they used to return the money, including the last 4 numbers of the card that they refunded the money to. These 4 numbers were not my credit card number, and do not belong to any card that I have ever owned. The company refuses to refund the money to my credit card, claiming that the strange card number is mine. I think the truth is that they did not return any money, to anybody’s card.

Reports filed with the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General’s office of California yielded no results from GotPrint. The company decided it would rather take negative marks on their BBB & AG reports than do the right thing and refund a customer’s money for a bad product.

At this point, I had no choice but to file a small claim against them in a Glendale, California court. Because of the small claims court rules, I could not file local to myself, on the opposite side of the country. I had to choose between paying to travel across the country and losing more money to get justice, or to take the smaller monetary loss and allow them to get away with ripping off their customer. I chose according to my principles. I decided to potentially lose a greater amount of money and pursue justice.

February 9, 2011 was our court date. Sonik Artounian and Kristina Keshishyan, both of GotPrint, were present. The magistrate somehow elected to give Sonik Artounian the choice of whether to hold the case that day, or to postpone it by a month. She saw this opportunity to possibly win the case on the chance that I might not have enough money to make another trip for the next court date (this is how scum works). I explained in court, to Sonik and Kristina, that if they chose to postpone for a month, my travel expenses would be double what they already are, and those expenses would be included in the suit, which meant they would have to pay a lot more in the end. They didn’t care. They were hoping I wouldn’t show up for the next date.

March 15: The next court date. This time, a mediator asked if we would agree to mediation. I agreed. However, when we entered the mediation room, the mediator revealed that he is a friend and an attorney of Sonik Artounian, the defendant. He asked if that was ok with me. I informed him that no, I was not ok with the defendant’s personal friend and attorney to decide on my case against her company.

So, I retreated to the court room to have my case heard before the magistrate. I was informed that it was an attorney filling in for the magistrate that day, and that my choices were to have the case heard by the sub-attorney, or to reschedule again for another day. I accepted, because I didn’t want to spend more money traveling yet again for the same small claim case because of this.

Sonik Artounian presented a piece of paper purporting to contain my personal credit card info, claiming that they had refunded me the money for my purchase. I asked to look at this paper. The paper contained info from a credit card that was not mine. I explained this to the magistrate, and offered to show him my one and only credit card right there in court to prove it. He refused to look. He did, however, ask Sonik how she obtained this supposed credit card number and all accompanying info, as it is not legal for them to store this kind of information. She had no answer. This means that she either A) obtained this information through illegal means, or B) was deliberately using false information in hopes that the judge would blindly believe her without checking my real credit card info against it.

I offered to show the magistrate my receipt from my order, to show that I indeed paid with MY credit card, and not someone else’s. The magistrate refused to look at it. Instead, he asked me if I had my credit card statement with me, showing the purchase. I explained that no, I did not bring credit card statements across the country with me, but I had brought my receipt, as that is what is standard to show in a court case involving a product purchase; not a credit card statement. He replied that since I didn’t have a credit card statement with me, he was going to rule against me. I explained that it was very unusual to request a credit card statement as a deciding exhibit, when I could very easily show him the receipt. He refused to budge on this ridiculous request, and refusal to look at the receipt. I told him that if he really needed to see it, I would have to reschedule the court case yet again and come back with it. The magistrate stated, “No, I don’t want you to go through that trouble.” Then he decided for the lying scum company. No, I’m not joking. The attorney who was temporarily sitting in place for a real magistrate actually decided that he wouldn’t allow me to accommodate his own strange and bewildering request, instead opting to give the case to the obviously guilty, lower-than-pondscum company. This leads me to believe that the mediator who admitted being personal friends with Sonik from gotprint wasn’t the only one who was working on her behalf.

Even better, the substitute magistrate/attorney did not return the exhibits to me, as he was supposed to. By law, the defendant was supposed to give me a copy of the fake credit card info that they presented in court. After the magistrate took my copy, he didn’t return it. Phone calls to the court were fruitless, getting nothing but a reply of “He doesn’t have it.” I wouldn’t doubt if they were friends of his, since the mediator was a personal friend and attorney of the company.

So, a lawyer/friend of the lower-than-pondscum company may have broken the law and screwed me over to help his friends. That’s the law at work.

Criminal element within the company:

*It should also be noted that the person listed in GotPrint’s BBB file (http://www.la.bbb.org/business-reviews/Printing-Companies/Gotprintcom-in-Burbank-CA-13213763) as HR Director, Kristina Keshishyan, has apparently been sued by the California State Attorney General in a very large scam operation, in which Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. calls her out as a “Ripoff Artist”. The scam involved George & Kristina Keshishyan, along with 3 other partners who together operated two corporations and one limited liability company: Annual Review Board, Inc., Business Filings Division and Corpfilers.com, LLC. Keshishyan and her co-conspirators mailed solicitations to California limited liability companies and corporations, demanding that the recipients complete the form and return it with payment or risk penalties, fines and suspension. The payment amounts varied from $195 to $239, but all mailers were designed to be official-looking government documents that misled the recipients into sending money. You can view the Attorney General’s press release here: http://oag.ca.gov/news/press_release?id=1817. Keshishyan’s history as a ripoff artist is reflected in the actions of her current business, gotprint.net. They were ordered to pay restitution in excess of $2.4 million. To attempt verification, we searched for all instances of the exact spelling of her name in the United States. Only one instance turned up. It’s certainly possible that someone else has the exact same name and spelling as her, and has magically evaded having any public record of her existence being recorded, and it’s certainly possible that it was the one who magically doesn’t appear in public records who committed this crime, but who’s going to take that bet? You might as well be betting on the existence of Cthulu.

Here’s a site that has followed Kristina Keshishyan through this scam operation all the way up through gotprint:

Unless this company refunds my money along with all of my expenses, this site will never be taken down. I will keep growing it until it is the first thing that anyone sees whenever searching for them online. I will expand it to show endless horrible nightmarish stories about them from their other customers. It will haunt them forever, unless they do the right thing and redeem themselves.

And contrary to what the company themselves may think, it is not illegal to post a truthful negative review of your experiences with a company. It is not illegal to tell the world about the disgusting, horrible actions that you taken against others. And it is not illegal to alert others of your experience or welcome the experiences of others who have also had nightmarish experiences with the company. Until the company refunds all costs and expenses, and makes a public apology, their negative reviews will never stop haunting them.
